Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Ltd., a leading old Private Sector Bank on a high growth path, invites applications from dynamic and result-oriented retired banking professionals. Selected candidates will function as Mobile Inspectors of Branches, undertaking rigorous internal audits, vault checks, KYC and AML compliance verifications, and operational risk assessments across branch networks.

Candidates must fulfil all specified criteria to be eligible for selection.

The age of the candidate must not be more than 62 years.

• The retired officers of TMB or other banks are eligible for selection from the date of retirement.
• The officers should have been in Scale II, Scale III or Scale IV cadre during retirement. Previous work experience in the inspection or audit department will be given preference.
• Only suitable persons with a good track record to suit the bank's requirement will be engaged on a contract basis.
• Officers with unblemished service alone are eligible to apply.
• Officers who were removed or dismissed from the bank's service under disciplinary measures are not eligible.

The contract will be initially given for a period of 1 year and, based on a satisfactory performance report, it will be renewed for a further period of 1 year, making the total contract period 2 years.

Selected candidates will receive a consolidated pay of ₹35,000/- per month. No other allowance or perquisites including bonus, ex-gratia, variable pay, LFC, and medical reimbursement as admissible to regular employees will be paid or given. However, they are eligible to avail all other allowances provided to the Mobile Inspector of Branches such as lodging expenses and halting allowance, which will be paid as applicable to their respective cadre.

Selected officers will handle responsibilities associated with the Inspection Division, including:

• Verify that all branch activities are conducted as per the bank's internal policies, procedures, and circulars.
• Ensure adherence to Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regulations and other statutory requirements.
• Check compliance with KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) norms.
• Scrutinize cash transactions, deposits, advances, and other high-value entries for irregularities.
• Verify cash balance and vault holdings against records.
• Examine loan and advance portfolios for proper documentation, sanctioning procedures, and follow-up.
• Ensure interest calculations and charges are correctly applied.
• Identify potential operational, credit, Trade Finance, and compliance risks at the branch level.
• Check for fraud-prone areas such as dormant accounts, unauthorized overdrafts, or forged documents.
• Evaluate the adequacy of internal controls and inspect security items like gold, title deeds, and pledged or mortgaged properties.
• Verify security systems such as CCTV, alarm systems, and fire safety measures, and check insurance coverage of branch assets.
• Assess branch service standards, review customer complaints and resolution processes, and observe staff-customer interactions.
• Audit account opening forms, loan files, vouchers, registers, safe custody, locker registers, and complaint registers, and ensure proper record retention and disposal.
• Verify staff attendance, leave records, code of conduct adherence, job role definition, and review training needs.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports highlighting observations, irregularities, risks identified, and recommendations for corrective action.
• Submit findings to the Regional Office or Head Office Inspection Division, follow up on compliance with previous inspection recommendations, and perform other related duties.

1. Go to the TMB website career portal at https://apps.tmbdigital.bank.in/tmb_careers/ and click on "Apply Online" under the recruitment advertisement for Mobile Inspector of Branches.
2. Register with a correct email ID and mobile number to create a User ID, noting the unique Registration Number and Password sent via SMS.
3. Click the activation link sent to the registered email ID to access the Careers portal.
4. Log in using the Application number and password, fill in all details carefully across pages, and click "Save/ Continue". Ensure all names match certificates and mark sheets exactly.
5. Upload a scanned photograph (390 x 520 pixels preferred, max size 120 KB) and a scanned signature in non-capital letters (240 x 240 pixels preferred, max size 60 KB).
6. Upload required enclosures (max size 250 KB each), including a self-attested photocopy of SSLC or Higher Secondary Mark Sheet / Transfer Certificate for age proof, degree certificates, experience certificates, relieving letters, and the last month's salary slip.
7. Submit the online application form by clicking confirm/submit at the bottom of the page to receive the "Registration is successful" message, then save and print the system-generated application form.

Shortlisted candidates must appear for an interview. They will be called for a personal interview conducted through Direct or Video Conferencing. The mode of interview, date, and time will be communicated to eligible candidates individually by post or email.
